Malaysia Airlines Website Hacked By Cyber Caliphate: ‘404 – Plane Not Found’

Hackers purporting to be aligned with the Cyber Caliphate – a group with extremist IS sympathies allegedly also behind an attack on the social media accounts of the US Central Command earlier this month – have apparently hijacked the Malaysia Airlines website, replacing the booking page with an error message reading ‘404 – Plane Not Found’.
A ‘404’ error message, of course, refers to a page that cannot be found, a dead or broken link. In this instance, it’s a very clear reference to missing flight MH370, which disappeared in March of last year in the Southern Indian Ocean. Soon after in July, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down while en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Both resulted in the deaths of 537 people.
On visiting the site, you’re now greeted with the logo of the group claiming responsibility for the hack and a barely-listenable ‘rap’ song outlining the group’s ability to level large scale organisations’ online presence.
Malaysia Airlines have since issued a very conservative response:

More to come.
