Dramatic video has surfaced this morning from the Netherlands, showing a lone gunman entering the studio of Dutch national broadcaster NOS.
ABC reports that the gunman gained access into the Hilversum building after threatening a security guard. Footage then reportedly showed the gunman in the news studio with a pistol behind his back, before police stormed the building and the NOS broadcast was taken off air as the building was evacuated.
Dutch reports claim that the gunman was demanding airtime, according to The Age.
At this time, the gunman’s motive remains unclear – ABC translates some of the gunman’s speech as, “The things that are going to be said … those are very large world affairs. We were hired by the security service.”
Radio reports allege that nobody was hurt in the attack.
