By this point, the world has become mostly desensitised to the near-daily hairstyle changes of one Kylie Jenner; while her neon wigs and dye-jobs are certifiably harmless, Twitter users have taken issue with one of her latest looks.
Attending Alexander Wang’s recent show as part of New York Fashion Week, Jenner was caught sporting a ponytail supposedly crafted from hair African American women use almost exclusively for braiding.
‘Yaki’ hair is very particularly designed to match natural follicles, and it’s noted for its unique texture; the fact Jenner used it a) as a plain ol’ high pony, and b) in clear contrast to her natural hair has caused users to claim cultural appropriation.
So. This is Kylie Jenner.
It must be so cool to be a Black woman for the aesthetics and face none of the issues. pic.twitter.com/BeITuj3MuR— Panic! At The Bando (@FireinFreetown) February 14, 2016

Kylie Jenner is that white girl who makes fun of her black friends for having full lips, tan skin and hair , then turn around and get them.

why is Kylie Jenner out here wearing my shade of foundation and making a ponytail out of braiding hair?

The implication here, as always, is that accessorising with blatantly nicked cultural cues without giving any sort of recompense is a grade A+ dodge thing to do.
can’t wait for this to hit Elle magazine & girls rush out to get kanekalon. “get Kylie’s ponytail for less than $5!” https://t.co/grkAagGBiA
