Somewhere in the furthermost regions of Kanye West‘s heart is a place that’s reserved for the building-up of people.
And in that place sits Caitlyn Jenner, who Yeezy brings to tears with his kind words in the premiere episode of reality show I Am Cait, which documents the Olympian’s new life as a transgender woman.
Arriving at Jenner’s apartment with wife Kim Kardashian, he leans in for a man-hug and – as cool as can be even though it must have been trippy to see his father-in-law so transformed – greets her with a casual ‘Waddup?’
The rapper goes on to praise Caitlyn on her courage:
“I think this is one of the strongest things that have happened in our existence as human beings, that are so controlled by perception. You couldn’t have been up against more – like, your daughter is a supermodel, you’re celebrity – and it was still like ‘Fuck everybody, this is who I am’.”
Caitlin is clearly pretty chuffed to have Yeezy’s support, gushing:
“Kanye and I have never been very close but I love his openmindedness and I love how he’s helped Kim come to grips with what’s going on.”
