Julie Bishop Is Definitely In Peta Credlin’s Burn Book

The working relationship between Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Prime Minister Tony Abbott‘s notoriously hard-nosed Chief of Staff Peta Credlin has reportedly broken down completely, with Bishop apparently now flat-out refusing to take directives from Credlin and the PM’s office. This was evidenced earlier this week when reports emerged that Bishop had gone around the PM’s office to seek approval from the Federal Cabinet for her to attend a UN Climate Conference currently underway in Lima, Peru.

Bishop’s initial travel request was denied by Credlin and the PM’s office, and the subsequent approval was only made with the caveat that Trade Minister Andrew Robb accompany her – a move that reportedly severely displeased Bishop.

Credlin, for her part, has a reputation of being a hard taskmaster, with some MPs publicly complaining that she is far too controlling.

So with the two most powerful women in the country seemingly at dire odds with one another, we’ve got ourselves a perfectly set stage for one hell of a showdown. Credlin has been forced to deny any political ambitions, with the quiet scuttlebutt being that she’s gearing up to leave her administrative post in preparation for an entry into politics at the 2016 election.

We’re about to see a political shitfight between two of the most ambitious women ever to step foot in Parliament House the likes of which we’ve never seen! There’s gonna be blood, debris, broken bodies strewn across the path of anywhere unlucky enough to get caught in the crossfire. Two raging bulls staring each other down, never once being the one foolish enough to blink first! Two will walk in, but only one can emerge victorious!
