Jeremyville Opens New York Salon

Last time Pedestrian caught up with Sydney-born and New York-based artist, entrepreneur and super-nice dude, Jeremyville, we chatted about his eternally hectic work schedule which, at that time, included a group show at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburg, a Jeremyville pair of jeans for a Norwegian denim label, a series of ads he animated for the French Energy Ministry, a commission for Asics Tokyo to design the graphics and ads for the 2010 Tokyo Marathon and a project that he was particularly enthused by: “a series of salon evenings for my artist friends and art collectors at my new SoHo loft in New York.”

Next time you’re state side make sure you venture Soho way because The Jeremyville Salon has now officially opened for viewing. Jeremy sent us a few photos of his fully pimped new Soho space, located at 80 Varick Street, between Watts & Grand in SoHo, which comes complete with views of the motherfuckin Empire State Building y’all.

You can collect original paintings & drawings, signed prints such as the daily ‘Community Service Announcements’ that Jeremyville posts to his Facebook page each day, and ever changing art based products by Jeremyville. You can also also look through Jeremyville’s sketchbooks and chat with the man himself at the Salon in between drawing sessions.

With The Salon Jeremyville has expanded his personal art space to three, with his existing studios in Bondi and Pott’s Point in Sydney. He recently talked to Pedestrian about the advantages of having work spaces on both sides of the world saying, “In a career sense, being in New York has it’s obvious advantages, but also working internationally from Sydney is now completely possible with email and video conferencing. When I’m in Sydney, I love the feeling of swimming at Bondi in the afternoon, and doing work with clients in London at 6pm that evening, then with New York at 11pm when it opens. The world has changed. find the best parts about that change and claim it as your own.

“New York for me though, is a truly exciting and visceral place to work from, and to interact with clients and other artists, but then again it’s also exciting drawing in a sketchbook on a cliff overlooking Tamarama. you can have it all, I don’t think you have to choose one or the other. Decide how you want to live and work, and then make it happen.”
