In an attempt to curb the vicious condition of Game Of Thrones Withdrawal, HBO have released a deleted scene from season 3 of perpetual soul-crushing fantasy drama and tear provocateur, Game Of Thrones.
Be still, beating hearts. Be Still. No seriously, calm down. Almost nothing happens.
What’s revealed certainly is no Red Wedding, but we do get a sneaky insight to the King’s Council’s official Bumbling Old Man With A Taste For Prostitutes trying his hand at stepping out of his self-entrenched character and begging Tywin Lannister to be reinstated in the King’s Council. Naturally Tywin sees through the act (note the incredible, staged tripping over his tongue at 1:13) and is all, “Sigh, old man, am I the only one who sees through you?” (Hint: he is).
Pycelle continues by indulging in some lofty prose in an analogy that constructs The King’s Council as a lush garden; Tywin proves he’s a skilled fisherman, and then the slow three minutes are over and it’s all been a bit unsatisfying, and wait, was that all just salt in the wounds of my withdrawal #feelings?
