Game of Thrones has never been a show of enormous subtlety when it comes to that pretty well defined line straddling the spectrum of life and death. In the world of Westeros, you live until you die, and once you were dead you bloody well stayed that way.
So with that in mind, here’s this. Charles Dance aka Tywin Lannister has hinted during an interview that his character will be involved with the fifth season of the smash hit HBO drama. This is only news that’s a little bit out of the ordinary because… Well…

Those with memories and the ability to use them will remember that during season four’s finale, Tywin was unceremoniously ARROWED whilst sitting atop the “real” throne – read: ze crapper – by diminutive son Tyrion Lannister.
The way that Dance – and Tywin – could remain involved with the production is through the usage of flashbacks. Despite the show not utilising flashbacks in the past, a number of clues and rumours have pointed towards dipping into the backstory of Cersei Lannister, involving a prophecy told to a young Cersei by a fortune teller by the name of Maggy the Frog.
The storyline is contained within book four of George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series – A Feast For Crows – and is in line with reports that season five of the HBO series will take its plot lines from book four, as well as book five – A Dance With Dragons.
Filming of the series is underway, but don’t expect it to hit TV screens anytime before next year.
