Grenfell Tower Residents Shown Trapped On Top Floors In Facebook Video

Footage shot yesterday from within London’s burning Grenfell Tower has emerged on Facebook, showing residents faced with smoke-filled hallways on one of the building’s top floors.

The video opens with a woman believed to be Rania Ibrham speaking with another resident, who tells her not to open the front door on account of smoke in the corridor. The woman says “listen, you have little children, standing near the door – the smoke is not going to help you.”

A woman believed to be Ibrham can be seen quickly opening the door, only to find the corridor in near total darkness. Shortly after, several other tower residents can be seen walking through the hallway, as another calls for them to “come here.”

Shortly after, the video cuts shows footage from the building’s balcony. No smoke nor flames can be seen, but a woman can be heard yelling “there’s too many people stuck upstairs.”

Prayers in Arabic can be heard throughout the video.

The video was the last post Ibrham made on her Facebook page.
A Facebook user commented on the video saying Ibrham is her aunt, and asked for information on her condition and location.
A friend of Ibrham, who only identified herself as Yaz, also said she received a Snapchat message from her hours after the video was posted. Yaz said Ibrham appeared to be trapped at the time.
12 people have been confirmed as casualties of the blaze, and authorities have said more fatalities are expected.
