Well there you go. In a dramatic upset, Donald Trump has defeated Hillary Clinton to become the 45th President of the United States. Hillary has called to concede defeat.

It was called quite early after what could very charitably be called a wipeout – Clinton ended up losing a lot of states that were believed to be absolutely in the bag for her, like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Looks like Trump’s particular brand of aggressively politically incorrect anti-globalisation rhetoric won out.
This’ll be a big wakeup call for the Democrats to change tack. The country has changed, the world has changed, and the unbelievable thirst for change and to unpick the consensus has led to this.
