Four Hospitalised in Sydney, Bad Ecstasy Batch Feared

Authorities fear that there may be a bad batch of ecstasy circulating in Sydney, after four people were hospitalised overnight, allegedly after taking the same drug.
The Sydney Morning Herald report that three men and one woman, all aged in their early 20s, all separately ingested a “small blue pill” marked with a logo of a pair of scissors.
All four are believed to have obtained the pills around the Cronulla area, at house parties and a licensed venue. It is believed that the drug, sold as ecstasy, contains a hallucinogenic substance.
A police spokesman said that the four presented at hospital in a “severely agitated” state, showing symptoms that medical staff described as “not those typically associated with ecstasy.”
None of the four hospitalised knew-each other, and all took their pills in “separate incidents”, which police say is concerning, and may be a sign that there is a bad batch of ecstasy circulating.
Three have since been released from hospital, while one young man remains there under observation.
