Footage has emerged of the moment an SUV drove through a crowd of pedestrians on Melbourne’s Flinders Street yesterday afternoon, showing the speed and force of the horrific incident.
Video obtained by 7 News captures the moment a 32-year-old man allegedly drove a Suzuki four-wheel-drive through the intersection, injuring 17 people in the process.
Pedestrians can be seen thrown to the ground by the impact, with shocked bystanders recoiling from the scene.

More details on those injured have also been released. Seventeen people were injured during the collision, and their ages stretch from four to eighty-three. The suspect and the off-duty police officer who apprehended him have both received treatment in hospital.

While Victoria Police vehemently stated they haven’t found evidence to suggest it was a terrorist attack, they have described it as a “deliberate act.” The suspect was already known to authorities with a history of assault charges, along with drug use and mental health issues.
The suspect remains under hospital arrest, and authorities are continuing their investigations.
