In today’s “My lord, Russia, what exactly is going on over there?” news, local media is reporting that a farmer was literally eaten by her pigs after she collapsed in their pen.
Russian media, as relayed by the BBC, say the 56-year-old woman had stepped out to feed the animals in her farm in the Malopurginsky district of Udmurtia when she either fainted or had an epileptic seizure.
Her husband, who told reporters that he had gone to bed early the previous night as he was feeling unwell, found her partially-eaten body in the pen.
The woman reportedly died of blood loss.
Officials in the region have launched an official investigation of the incident. “The opinion of forensic experts has been requested in this case,” said a spokesperson for local authorities.
