Former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Gia Gunn has used Transgender Visibility Day to come out herself as transgender.
With a simple video to her Instagram followers, Gunn said she had been undergoing hormone replacement therapy for more than a year prior to her announcement.
She said “if you are in transition, or struggling with your gender identity… I want to hear from you in the comments and let’s be visible.”
Since being posted, the clip has been viewed over 90,000 times, and fans have used the opportunity to express their own experiences.
Gunn joins Monica Beverly Hillz and Carmen Carrera as former contestants of the world’s best reality TV show who have spoken out about their gender transitions.
