Denis Darzacq – Hyper

French photographer Denis Darzacq simulates the act of levitation with astounding believability, but don’t expect to find smoke and mirrors…

Darzacq adamantly maintains that his work is photoshop-free. The Paris native honing his Modus Operandi in “La Chute” a collection of photographs in which Darzacq used street dancers to simulate hitting the ground at speed.

In “Hyper” Darzacq trades in the urban environment for the equally banal interiors of a fluorescent supermarket. His subjects appear peaceful, ascending delicately upwards, their suspended poses the result of merely jumping in the air. Darzacq’s photography depict those singular moments in space and time when the mundane can truly become extraordinary.
