Victoria Premier Dan Andrews has been taken to hospital following a “concerning” fall while getting ready for work this morning.

His office told the ABC there were no head injuries, but it was still a “concerning” injury. Andrews was transported to hospital for x-rays as a precaution.

He’s been on leave for several days and was due to return to work today, attending an Indigenous Affairs press conference scheduled for this morning.

Deputy Premier James Merlino took his place instead.

“He’s fine and will be back on his feet very shortly,” Merlino said at the presser.

“Hope it’s not serious,”  Opposition Leader Michael O’Brien tweeted this morning. “Wishing Daniel a speedy recovery.”
