Check Out The Windows 8 Blue Screen Of Death (Sadface)

Microsoft unveiled their much-awaited Windows 8 this week, which will be incredibly exciting to those who might want to break free of the grip of Apple-mania for a while.

The new operating system, about as overdue as the Arrested Development movie, was unveiled a few days ago, but the big question for anyone who’s ever had the unfortunate pleasure of trying to open one too many things on a PC at a time was ‘What’s up with the blue screen of death?’

For those under the age of, uh, ten, BSOD is the point where Windows decides it’s had enough of your shennanigans and forcibly restarts your computer. The equivalent on Mac would probably be the rainbow scroll wheel of death, although that doesn’t shut down your computer, merely paralysing it instead. It’s the famous source of frustration for millions of computer users every year, but now it’s gotten heaps hip and that.

That’s right, Bill Gates is up on the emoticons, people. We also like the tagline ‘Your computer ran into a problem it couldn’t handle’. We feel like there may be a mini (who are we kidding, regular sized) Tom Cruise in each box shouting ‘YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH’ every time we try and stream both Entourage and Project Runway while making Rebecca Black memes in Photoshop.

One can only hope.
