Caitlyn Jenner is back at it again with alienating the trans community, this time comparing coming out as trans to telling people she’s a Republican.
In an interview with Elex Michaelson on FOX 11’s The Issue Is, Caitlyn Jenner talked about running as the Republican candidate for Governor of California.
When she was asked if Kim Kardashian was going to advise her on criminal justice reform like she did with Donald Trump, Jenner laughed and said that her family wasn’t thrilled about the fact that she’s running as a Republican.
“One thing, and I’ve talked to all my family about running for governor and to be honest with you, it was easier to come out as trans than as a Republican candidate for governor, it was a lot tougher to sell,” she said.
Gee, I wonder fucking why.

Comparing an experience like coming out as trans to being a Republican not only invalidates the trauma and transphobia many trans people experience when coming out, but it also panders to the idea that Republicans are an oppressed minority in need of protection and preservation – which, obviously, is some bullshit.
The ignorant comments come after a series of problematic moves Caitlyn Jenner has made against the trans community, including wanting to ban trans girls from competing in female sports, and proposing a commission to investigate which trans girls are “truly trans”, whatever that means.
Now that you got yours, you’ll make sure every other trans person isn’t safe.

The ongoing war she seems to be waging against trans rights has led a lot of people to question her support and involvement in the LGBTQIA+ community, with people calling out her transphobia and general cluelessness when it comes to the broader trans experience.
