‘Broad City”s Ilana Glazer Just Sold A Show About A Time Travelling Bong

Never forget that darkness cannot exist without light. And for all the horrible shit that goes on in this world, occasionally something like this comes along and everything is balanced out once again.

A couple of years back. before Broad City exploded into the glorious wonder that it is today, Ilana Glazer shot a short skit for College Humour about a bong that could travel through time.
That’s all it was. Just a short, simple premise based around the idea that a fancy Gatorade Saxophone could traverse the space-time continuum when ripped upon.
And now, because Glazer has rightfully been recognised for the utter Queen that she is, and because Comedy Central‘s thirst for ~fresh content~ is very real, the funny cable channel has snapped up the sketch for a special 3 episode series.
Aptly entitled “Time Travelling Bong,” the show will also feature Broad City writer/”Trey“/frequent Glazer-collaborator Paul W. Downs, who also starred in the OG sketch.
As per the press release:

“”Time Traveling Bong” centres on two cousins, played by Glazer and Downs, who discover a time traveling bong and ride high as they blaze through time. Their buzz is killed when the bong breaks and the cousins are forced to bounce around the space time continuum, learning to appreciate there’s no time like the present.”

Yep. I see. That all sounds fair and reasonable.

As for their own thoughts on the matter, the team behind the show simply stated “no comment” when pressed for exactly that.
For reference, here’s the original sketch.

Sometimes the world is a glorious, shimmering delight, you guys.
The three-part series will premiere on April 20th, following the series three finale of Broad City.
