Bella and Gigi Hadid have shared powerful statements to social media regarding the conflict currently unfolding between Palestine and Israel right now.

The sisters, who are half Palestinian and half Dutch, have used their Instagram stories and feeds to share content that is not only informative, but bears a strong message in support of Palestinians, who have faced lynching and violent airstrikes.

Bella posted an educational graphic depicting two women discussing the conflict, with one giving out questions and the other highlighting ways that one can understand the nature of the Israeli colonisation of Palestine.

Alongside the graphic, Bella Hadid wrote an incredibly heartfelt statement explaining her stance on the matter.

“There is NO place for this !!! Especially in 2021!!!! It has always been #freepalestine. ALWAYS,” she wrote.

“I have a lot to say about this but for now, please read and educate yourself. This is not about religion. This is not about spewing hate on one or the other. This is about Israeli colonisation, ethnic cleansing, military occupation and apartheid over the Palestinian people that has been going on for YEARS!”

She also wrote about her experience of being a Palestinian woman, who was born in the US.

“I have been told my entire life that who I am: a Palestinian woman – is not real,” she continued.

“I’ve been told my father does not have a birthplace if he is from Palestine. And I am here to say, Palestine is very much real and the Palestinian people are here to stay and coexist. As they always have.”
