Australians Drop Trou In Honour Of Global ‘No Pants Subway Ride’ Day

Seventy-four beautiful butterflies who each said they would be ‘Attending’ Sydney’s leg of the 13th Annual ‘No Pants Subway Ride’ emerged from the poly-blend chrysalis of their pants and caught the train to Bondi in Sydney yesterday, all in support of a unified global effort to honour the joy of pantslessness taking place in some sixty cities around the world over the next twenty-four hours. Also, because lol.

Similar events also took place on the streets of AdelaideBrisbane and Melbourne, where participants feigning oblivion at their shared déshabillé state rode their respective city circle lines in silence, save for the perceptible whispers of a well-ventilated undercarriage. True to form, Madrid last week celebrated ‘Día sin Pantalones en el Metro’ four days before the scheduled global event, having evidently gotten the date wrong. No es bueno, Madrid.

If you’ve never seen people in various states of undress on Australian public transport networks – and I think we all have at some point in our lives – behold:
