Around the Pedestrian offices, worshipping our caffeinated poison of choice is unashamedly our lifeblood. When we’re working early, working late or working weekends – failing to [more or less] hook flat whites directly into our veins could very well result in a barely functioning website. We owe a lot to the bean.
To illustrate with a portrait of this writer’s consumption, this morning:

But as Australians have unofficially claimed the flat white as our national beverage, finding the finest brew in your capital city is a local’s most pressing task. For people who genuinely are worried about traveling overseas—because the watery sludge served around the world is a legitimate concern—shit coffee in our own cities simply won’t do.
Yelp have trawled their user-generated data and reviews to not only determine Australia’s most talked-about / most ordered coffee (those being, in order: lattes, flat whites, espressos, long blacks and cappuccinos), the site have pulled together a definitive list of the top 100 (most highly reviewed) coffee spots in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
Cafés in Tasmania, ACT and NT weren’t included, as there was a lack of Yelp reviews in those areas.
Big ups to NSW’s number one coffee spot, Single Origin Roasters, who have poured more coffee for the Pedestrian team than any café reasonably should. Proud.
