3 Heavenly Puppers Pulled From Rubble Of Italian Avalanche After 5 Days

Everyone knows that baby animals are the best thing this planet has to offer.

The fluffiness, the sounds they make, and the snuggles they offer are completely overwhelming and make all mere mortals pretty bloody emotional.
Who, in the animal kingdom, are us humans most susceptible to the charms of? Puppies, surely. Puppies are timeless and the best. Their love has no bounds.
So, what do you get when you combine said puppers with narrowly escaping a natural disaster? An all-round empowering and intense time, that’s what.
In central Italy, the Hotel Riogipano was struck by an avalanche five days ago. Emergency services have tragically failed to find the 22 people who are still missing, but they did manage to locate a trio of Abruzzo sheepdog puppies in the hotel’s boiler room.
Abruzzos may just be the cutest of them all, FYI, looking a little something like this:

“It was hard to find them right away because they were hidden,” said Sonia Marini, a Forestry Corps member.

“Then we heard this very tiny bark and we saw them from a little hole the firefighters had opened in the wall. Then we expanded the hole and we pulled them out.”

The pups turned out to be the babies of the hotel’s two dogs, Nuvola and Lupo, who had been able to escape the avalanche earlier in the week. They must have been in pure agony re: the unknown whereabouts of their bebs. The thought of a doggo family reunion a la 101 Dalmatians‘ is almost too much to bear.
While the discovery of the unbelievably cute dogues offered a moment of reprieve for those searching for the missing people, it unfortunately looks like they’ve still got a long search ahead.
“We’re happy to have saved them, and these are important moments in a dramatic situation,” said firefighter spokesperson, Luca Cari, “but I don’t think there’s much correlation with finding other people.”

Nevertheless, here’s hoping that the emergence of those pups is a sign of more miracles to come.
