According to the video, we finally have legit proof that a working hoverboard exists in 2015.
Pro skater Ross McGouran trials the prototype hoverboard, the ‘Slide’, in a promotional video for Lexus. Old mate is just casually hanging out with some cute friends at a skatepark, flying on a steaming hoverboard in 2015 like it’s nobody’s goddamn business.
And it fucking works on water. (In your face, Robert Zemeckis!)
There’s a massive catch however. Slide only works at the skatepark featured in the video, because the board works due to liquid nitrogen and magnets. So, to repel, the magnets have to be inbuilt into the ground – so Lexus have built a custom skatepark for the board in Barcelona.
Yeah, we are really fucking disappointed too. Let’s all just watch the video, hug one another while sobbing, and long for the day that we can have this for realsies.
