Yves Klein Blue Announce Split

2007 rom-com All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane (aka All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane And Probably Moving To The Major Australian City Brisbane Shares A Vague Cultural Affinity With, Melbourne) is a typical complaint spouted by twenty-something Brisbanites. It’s also a key reason for the split of jaunty Dew Process signings Yves Klein Blue who called it quits today after first forming in 2006. According to YKB’s official Facebook page the Brisbane four-piece broke up in the latter half of last year due to “creative differences” compounded by the Melbourne relocation of frontman Michael Tomlinson. The band released their debut LP Ragged & Ecstatic in 2009.

Read the statement below…

“Yves Klein Blue broke up because of creative differences some time in the second half of 2010, after 5 years together. We grew up and apart. We now live in different cities and pursue our respective vocations to our utmost capacity.

We leave behind 1 full length album and 2 EPs in the hope that you will remember us through that body of work. Thank you for singing along.

We remain hopeful for the future.”

RIP Yves Klein Blue.
