WATCH: Stay Calm, But Gorillaz Have Dropped Their 1st Tune Since 2011

The Gorillaz have been teasing a return for over a year now, but now we’ve finally got a glimpse at what Damon Albarn‘s pet project has in store for us. Their first tune since 2011 is a weird, angular little soul/electronic poem called Hallelujah Money
As you might expect, given the times, it’s an anti-Trump invective. Which should be patently clear from the opening shot of the video, which zooms down an endless golden hallway.
The vocalist here is Benjamin Clementine, a vocalist, poet and multi-instrumentalist from London, who has been receiving major accolades over the past couple of years for his challenging lyrics and an incredible voice.
It’s definitely an interesting song – it feels like a continuation of the more textured and symphonic sound of 2011’s The Fall. Keen to hear more.
