Watch Kendrick Lamar’s Vision of ‘Poetic Justice’ Featuring Drake and a Disclaimer

Here’s the high-def, high drama video for Kendrick Lamar’s Poetic Justice, taken from last year’s critically acclaimed LP good kid, m.A.A.d city.

It’s so visceral, so real, that it features a disclaimer reminding audiences that not everything you see on The Internet is real, and that “the events that occur are purely symbolic and should not be taken literal.” Inside you’ll find Drake doing what I imagine are regular Drake things. It also features a sample of Janet Jackson’s ‘Any Time, Any Place’, a neat throwback to brighter days.
Fun fact: according to Pitchfork, Kendrick tried to get Janet to appear in the video but was unable to do so – “she’s nowhere to be found here,” they observe. That’s because she’s really busy being Fashion in the front row at Milan Fashion Week, where she was spotted at yesterday’s Versace show with a head full of cornrows and a permanent blank expression. Priorities.
A true story, unlike the one in this video. Remember, do not take this literal.
