Drake, Basketball Pest, Tried To Start A Fight With An Actual NBA Player

On the long-list of ill-advised things Drake has done throughout his career, this is easily in the top five.

Those of you with any cursory knowledge of the NBA and the Toronto Raptors will know that Canada’s most famous Degrassi alumni is a courtside fixture for just about every Raptors home game.

That goes doubly for playoffs too, and given the top-seeded Raptors are locked in a second-round playoff battle with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Drake has ramped up his courtside antics to playoff-like levels.

Today’s first game of the series emanated from Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, and had the man born Aubrey Graham sitting in his usual courtside seat, close enough to talk a little shit with opposing players, as he is wont to do.

But in the grand tradition of Spike Lee and Reggie Miller, Drake might finally have written a cheque his very talented ass cannot cash.

Cameras caught Drake exchanging heated words with Cavalier Kendrick Perkins, a veteran baller signed by the Cavs prior to the playoffs to give the team some added might and guidance throughout the post-season campaign.

Perkins, who was not suited up for the game, fired back at Drake with the pair being separated by security.

The confrontation continued after the game, which Toronto lost in overtime 113-112, with October’s Very Own reportedly following Perkins down the arena tunnel, loudly and verbally calling him out.

Brave move, to be sure. But let’s not make mince any words here: Kendrick Perkins is 208cm tall and weighs 122kg. Drake is not.

Driz, if by some miracle you wind up reading this please take this advice: You’re not going to win this one.

Maybe just… maybe stay in your seat for game two, boss.
