Over night we saw the video release for “Change Your Life”, the radio-friendly pop cut by Iggy Azalea featuring T.I., a rapper associated with some of the biggest pop crossover tracks of the past decade. Will this collaboration take the Australian rap ingenue into the mainstream pop stratosphere where the likes of Nicki Minaj or Rihanna currently reside? Maybe.
For one thing, Ms Azalea’s status as a muse to the fashion world’s influencers is taking off, including a forthcoming shoot with Nick Knight of SHOWStudio, and has been regularly featured on Hunger, the publication helmed by photography great Rankin. Her stock is set to soar with the release of this video, if for no other reason the fact it’s been slapped with an 18+ rating by Youtube for the shot of a topless Iggy ascending a swimming pool ladder.
The 23-year-old from Mullumbimby is returning home in November to open for Beyoncé on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which should further boost her reputation. Her debut album The New Classic is out 13 October.
