Let’s address the two schools of thought regarding teasers for music videos.
The first – and one we believe most ascribe to – states as musicians assume monstrous cultural clout, they have every bloody right to release trailers for what amount to miniature movies. Rihanna’s no different, and after the leviathan release of ANTI, it makes sense she’d drop a sneak peek of her Work clip with Drizzy before it drops in full on Monday.
The other school? Well, there’s merit to the thought there’s something almost unseemly about releasing a teaser for a music video. After all, it’s essentially a promo for a promo, right? What good could come of that?
We challenge believers in the latter theory to maintain their viewpoint after watching, though. Go on. Try.
