WATCH: Aphex Twin Drops His 1st Vid In 17 Years & It’s Directed By A Child

You might know him for his nightmare-inducing music videos, his extensive catalogue that ranges from chill ambient to hyper-aggressive arhythmic nonsense or the fact that he kinda single-handedly invented modern electronic music: Richard D James AKA Aphex Twin is an extremely weird man.
His music is not for the casual listener, for me personally the height of my fandom was when I was 16 and deliberately trying to find things no one else could possibly like (smart use of my time), but he is undeniably talented.
He released his last album “Syro” in 2014, which was the first after a 13 year quiet spot following his iconic album “Drukqs“, but this new video looks like it might be just a taste of more things to come.
Directed by 12-year-old Ryan Wyer (who James found on YouTube), it shows Wyer, his family and his friends dancing around wearing masks with James’ iconic cheeky grin on ’em.
Have a gander for yourself, this one’s guaranteed to probably not make your ears bleed:
