Hey, happy Friday! The sun is shining (in Sydney), the air is clear and bright, and Sydney band Tonight Alive have dropped into Triple J with a very positive-vibes soaked cover of Savage Garden‘s ‘Affirmation’ for Like A Version, kicking the good feels up to 100 for the rest of us who are stuck in an office looking out to the nice day outside.
A band that’s been around for over a decade, Tonight Alive have been going non-stop both here and overseas, and finding their own space and vibe has resulted in a great blanket of zen over the four-piece. So blending one of the most uplifting songs from arguably one of the greatest Aussie pop duos (I will fight you on this) with their own ‘conscious-rock’ is a no-brainer, really. They also dropped a beaut rendition of their single ‘Temple’ from last year’s album, Underworld.
Truly, Tonight Alive are some of the most genuinely beautiful humans on the planet, so I can assure you that this cover is coming from a place of purpose and vocalist Jenna McDougall is 100% singing from her soul here.
