There’s Now a Life-Sized Amy Winehouse Statue in Camden

Late yesterday, a life-sized statue of late singer Amy Winehouse was unveiled in her spiritual home of Camden, to coincide with what what have been her 31st birthday. Her father Mitch Winehouse, who was present at the unveiling ceremony, told the BBC that she was “in love with” the area, and it is the place fans most associate with her.
On your next trip to London, be sure to take some time out to visit the statue, then after successfully elbowing your way through the throngs of tourists surrounding it and feeling slightly under-awed by how small it seems in real life, snap a selfie, then take a stroll through the backstreets and watch a used condom drift lazily down the canal as you contemplate how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things. Or just get a kebab and a pint. Your call.
