Tame Impala Clear Up Rumours Their Cheeky Hiatus Is Actually A Breakup

Freo-based group, Tame Impala, are one of the most impressive Aussie musical acts going around – and that’s saying something. With local legends such as Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Flume continuing to impress on a global stage, we are proving to be a very talented bunch.
One could argue that Tame paved the way for the contemporary psychedelic/electric sound that Australia has become associated with. You might wonder: what would happen if Tame Impala disbanded?
Would the high regard for down under tunes fade away? Would every ruffian, long-haired youth who finally felt accepted fade into the ether? Who would dudes in tie-dye shirts and bucket hats do nangs to if they were gone?
Many distressed fans thought they would have to face the dark reality of a life without Tame Impala, after numerous reports – and a particularly cryptic in-depth interview with frontman Kevin Parker – strongly hinted to a breakup. But there’s no need to freak out, folks, because everything is remaining, well, tame.

Basically, Kevs gave an interview about the band’s “last hurrah” at the upcoming Laneway Music Festival, where he was described as “relishing his unplanned future” and that he needs to “take a breath, reflect, and see what crops up.” Oh sweet Jesus.

It was all sounding a bit dire there for a moment, but the band’s manager, Jodie Regan, told PEDESTRIAN.TV that Tame Impala one hundo percent have “no plan” to break up anytime soon.
Everything is right in the world again. I shall just return to listening to ‘Currents’ on repeat and weeping over how good a record it is.
