Turning to the magical world of craft, Little Joy multi-instrumentalist Binki Shapiro has enlisted an enviable crew of friends to raise money for earthquake devastated Haiti. From customized T-shirts and totes to fun illustrations and personalized instruments, Crafts For A Cause boasts some amazing one-of-a-kind items, crafted, with love, from your favourite musicians, filmmakers and designers. All proceeds will go to Artists for Peace and Justice, a charity helmed by Oscar winning Writer/Director Paul Haggis of Million Dollar Baby and Crash fame.
Thus far Sia, JD Samson, Natalie Portman, Spike Jonze, Adam Green, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, Devendra Banhart, Conor Oberst, Vampire Weekend, Jenny Lewis, Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy and The Strokes have all donated crafty DIY projects. And with works from Daft Punk, Shirley Manson, Tegan and Sara, Mark Ronson, M. Ward, The Black Keys and Grizzly Bear still to come, Crafts For A Cause is definitely an organization worth supporting (and checking up on).
