Who knows if this is a big publicity stunt or just a cock up from an industry insider with loose lips, but MGMT’s new album has been leaked and is now available for free download to stream from their website (Sorry, U.S. Ip addresses only – get yourself a proxy), along with the following message from the band:
“Hey everybody, the album leaked, and we wanted you to be able to hear it from us. We wanted to offer it as a free download but that didn’t make sense to anyone but us.”
Their publicist / label person is going to be cross.
