Sorry to break it to you, but Kendrick Lamar‘s highly anticipated fourth studio album won’t be coming out today.
In his final line of ‘The Heart Part 4‘ (released March 23), Kendrick raps that “Y’all got ’til April the 7th to get your shit together”, a.k.a. TODAY. Naturally, everyone took that to mean April 7 was when we’d finally experience a taste of the official follow-up to ‘To Pimp A Butterfly‘.
Well, sadly, that’s not happening. Sometime between recording that song and today, somebody decided the best time to release the album was April 14.
The album’s official Apple page is listing that as the ‘expected date’, but at this point, who the hell knows anymore.
Still. At least we’ve got ‘Humble‘ to keep us exactly that.
