Radiohead’s Australian Tickets Are $700 On EBay

Yesterday we exalted over the wonderful news that Radiohead are touring Australian for the first time in eight years. But today a dark cloud has descended over Radiohead fans as their desperate attempts to procure pre-sale tickets have been thwarted by a technical glitch.

Those vying for the precious pre-sale tickets via the online retailer Ticketmaster were foiled after overwhelming demand caused issues with the site. Disgruntled fans started an angry facebook page to vent displeasure, before the tour promoter Chugg Entertainment released a statement saying:

The issue was rectified as a matter of urgency and all available presale tickets were snapped up quickly. As mentioned previously, today’s presale was of limited allocation and with such a high demand it was unlikely that everyone was going to be successful in securing tickets. Those of you that did miss out, please try again through the public on sale at 9am (local time) this Thursday.

This hasn’t stopped crafty jerks from once again taking their tickets to eBay to chase massive profits from Radiohead tragics (i.e. everyone). So far bidders are offering in excess of $700 for a pair.

And so it goes…

Tickets for all shows are officially on sale this Thursday 1 March at 9am (local time). Best of luck everyone.
