Daft Punk, who Pharrell affectionately calls “the robots” throughout his quasi-philosophical turn in the spotlight in the latest episode of The Creators Project’s The Collaborators series, “are not bound by time and space”. They also have some killer non-recreational drugs and were high on Nile Rodgers at the exact same time the US producer-singer was, going some way to explaining why all three musical entities combine on lead Random Access Memories single “Get Lucky” and wear sequined Saint Laurent jackets in its preview video. “You don’t need MDMA for this music,” he assures us. And not for a second do we doubt that.
