Perthonalities and West Aussies alike, get ready for a bloody massive New Years celebration this year as the first Origin Fields lineup dropped into our laps this morning, bringing a whole bunch of great acts over to the west coast. No need to comment “come 2 Perth” or “why no Perth??” on this one mates, it’s happening.
Sharing a healthy amount of its lineup with new sibling festival, Wildlands, the Perth party will play host to Tyler, The Creator, Skepta, RL Grime, Ella Mai, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and heaps more across two days.
Shifting into its new dates of December 31 & Wednesday – a Tuesday & Wednesday, mid-week party this year – Origin Fields is turning it up for Perth’s NYE vibes, smooching the year that was goodbye, and welcoming in the new year and all it’s potential. I assume any and all resolutions made in the first moments of the new year will dissolve in the summer sun the next day.
The fest will treat WA punters to two full days of boogie (or maybe one day of boogie and one of serious recovery/hair of the dog) slamming it into 2020 with a healthy lineup that makes it really hard to keep still.
The Origin Fields team is yet to confirm whether it’ll return to Langley Park, but keep your eyes peeled and we’ll keep you updated on where the party’s going down this year.
Check out the first lineup announcement below, presale tickets officially go on sale on Thursday, August 8 (you can sign up for those on the festival’s website), and general sale kicks off on Tuesday August 13.
