The lineup for Wildlands Festival, the brand-new fest to hit Brisbane this summer, has landed right in our pretty little laps – and it’s a red-hot one, folks.
We already know that RÜFÜS DU SOL is pinned to make the trip to the sunshine state for the festival in the final days of 2018, and now we know that the other headliner is none other than Tyler, The Creator. It’ll be the first time he’s been in Australia since 2013, and the first time he’s announced an appearance here since his 2015 tour got canned amid controversy.
Alongside these two huge acts, Wildlands is treating punters to summery sets from UK king of grime, Skepta, EDM champion RL Grime, our very own precious Mallrat, Jauz (who did that ‘Baby Shark‘ remix at Coachella), What So Not, and Green Velvet, for starters.
If Splendour is anything to go by, What So Night might just bring along Daniel Johns so he can smash out half a Silverchair song again.
If that’s simply not enough to whet your appetite and get your jonesing for December (it’s not), the festival will also see the likes of Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers, Willaris. K, Dom Dolla, Ella Mai, Lastlings, smashing out sets at Brisbane Showgrounds on December 28.
Ah yes, Dec 28 is right in the middle of that blissful week between Christmas and New Year’s where I lose all track of time, and exist for a full week not knowing what day it is whatsoever. The precious in-between time where it’s still totally acceptable to eat Xmas Day leftovers in the blow-up pool out in the backyard. The No Responsibility Time™.
Tickets for the massive fest go on sale from 12pm AEST Wednesday August 7, and if you sign up over on the Wildlands Festival website, you can cop cheeky presale tickets from 6pm AEST Tuesday August 6.
As far as I can see, none of the artists on the lineup are exclusively performing at the festival, so fingers crossed we get some good sideshows as well.
Check out the full lineup below and get phenomenally keen for the end of the year.
