This new Nicki Minaj–Ariana Grande tune, Bed, is a bop, and there’s no denying it.
The song, off Minaj’s forthcoming album Queen features Minaj spitting rhymes over a slow jam, with Grande contributing the sweet as pie bridge and chorus.
It’s the not the first time the pair have worked together: a collab from the pair is due out on June 20, The Light Is Coming from Grande’s upcoming album, Sweetener; while in 2016, they got together for Side to Side from her last LP, Dangerous Woman.
Grande’s hook on Bed is a pretty inviting proposition – although frankly it probably only applies to her fiancé Pete Davidson: “I’ve got a bed with your name on it, I’ve got a kiss with your name on it.”
Meanwhile Minaj’s verses talk about edible strawberry lingerie, oral sex, and how she could be shagging ex-One Direction champ Zayn Malik: “Coulda put Zayn on it, but I put your name on it.”
On another single from her upcoming record, Barbie Tingz, Minaj implied she might have shagged Slim Shady: “I’m so fly, just bagged a white guy.” Then in her guest verse on YG‘s Big Bank, she dropped a second hint about her relationship with the older rapper: “Told ’em I met Slim Shady, bagged a Em/ Once he go black, he’ll be back again.” She seemed to confirm to a fan in late May via Insta that the pair were dating.
It was all a LOL, Eminem admitting at a gig in Boston that well, he wishes. (Minaj loved that).

To be real though, speaking to Elle though, for next month’s cover, Minaj said that she’s currently single, which has contributed to her last six months of “spiritual growth”. She said it was the first time she’s been without a serious boyfriend since she was just 15.
As soon as I realised that I could actually live and breathe, and eat and sleep, and walk and talk without having a boyfriend, something clicked in me.
Becoming single was one of the things that made me feel strong and powerful. The fact that I am a young woman who doesn’t need a man for money. I don’t need a man for a job.
