“Netflix And Chill” Gets Its Own Anthem Not A Minute Too Soon

Just days after News Corp boldly took it upon themselves to explain the deeper meaning of “Netflix and chill“, we have confirmation that the phrase has cemented itself firmly in the millennial lexicon: there’s a song about it.

Specifically, it’s a track by B.o.B released yesterday on Soundcloud, and it manages to encapsulate all the searing highs and heart-broken lows of today’s hookup culture, i.e. TFW your Tinder match doesn’t “come through for real” despite a very generous offer of “drink and smoke on deck” and, presumably, an episode and a half of Wet Hot American Summer before showtime. WINK. WINK. WINK.

I was thinking Netflix and chill

Netflix and chill

I got drink and smoke on deck that’s if you come through for real.

In case you thought B.o.B might just be seriously in need of a bing-watching companion – he’s not.

Come through we can Netflix is up

She say Bobby you reckless as fuck

I said girl you know life is a bitch

Ain’t no reason for dressin’ it up

Somewhere, out in the universe, is the girl who bailed on B.o.B’s ‘chill sesh’ with a “i’m really tired, soz, but maybe some other night” and spent her evening instead doing whatever the fuck she wants, providing the catalyst for this track of blue balls and broken promises.
