Here’s Jaden Smith In The Baz Luhrmann Netflix Series You Knew Not Of

From the colourful mind of our greatest directorial export, Baz Luhrmann, comes a Netflix original series you knew zero about until just now: ‘The Get Down’, a 13-episode series on the coming-of-age of hip hop in 1970s New York.
Yep, a very white male directs a very African-American/Latino cast of mostly unknowns on the ~flava~ of their cultural history.
We’re also #blessed with cameos by philosopher/musician/model/Jaden Smith and hip hop icon Grandmaster Flash, which is fkn cool.
The series – hitting screens later this year – will follow a “quartet of teenage boys (including Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Skylan Brooks and T.J. Brown Jr., with Jaden as a little hanger-on) and an adolescent girl (Herizen Guardiola) from a strict religious background as they pursue their music dreams in the face of the harsh realities of their neighborhood.”

We’re… intrigued.
