LadyHawke Returns After 3 Year Recording Break

Through her alter ego Ladyhawke, Kiwi artist Pip Brown created a shameless homage to Eighties-era synthpop kitsch with her self-titled debut back in 2008. Now after three years, two ARIA gongs and extensive touring all over the place, Brown is finally getting set to release her second album.

According to Sydney Confidential, Pip is currently in the process of completing the new Ladyhawke record back home in New Zealand, but fans of her Casio-inflected 80s pop tunes should probably prepare to hear a very different Ladyhawke sound the second time around. She said of the change in direction: “I took a lot of trips down memory lane and found all my Britpop stuff: Blur, Supergrass, even stuff like the Dandy Warhols. This album is basically me at 18.”
