As someone who prides himself on his outsize creative genius, it’s becoming very apparent that Kanye West is running out of original gifting ideas for his wife of, Jesus, not even one year, Kim Kardashian West, née Kimberly Kardashian Kollection.
Everyone today literally cannot stop talking about this one time last week when, in occasion of #tbt and evidently addled as one becomes with memory loss of the kind that only gets worse with each station we pass on our inevitable album tour toward the grave, Kanye West gave his infant daughter North West a Hermès Birkin bag (RRP starting at $20,000+) and some paint and let her go to town on what would become his wife’s 34th birthday gift.
It’s an act of largesse near identical in concept and realisation to his last major holiday season gift, which was his heart in the form of a beautiful, dark, twisted Hermès Birkin bag elegantly defaced with boobs by the artist George Condo.
In Kim’s own words, tee hee:
Kanye had a box, a purse, this Hermès purse, and I opened it and I thought it was so cool. It was all painted really cool and then there was my computer and it said, “Press Play.”I pressed play and my daughter was sitting outside painting the purse. I thought it was an artist that painted the purse, some custom thing. I thought it was some new artist, and it was my daughter. It was amazing and I have it all on video.
The rest of her special day was spent shopping in Hawaii, before taking a private jet to collect a $500,000 appearance check at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas. How was your day?
