G’day and 안녕하세요, folks. Big Hit Entertainment, the firm behind K-pop megastars BTS, is recruiting members for a new girl band – and they’ve planned open auditions in Australia.

Billboard reports Big Hit Entertainment will scour the globe next month for performers to fill the ranks of a new act, which is set to debut in 2021.
The Plus Global Auditions, announced yesterday, will tour Asian metropolises including Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, and Hanoi. Auditions will also be held in Los Angeles and New York City.
Most importantly for you, Big Hit Entertainment will also hear from folks in Australia. The Perth audition has been set for Saturday October 12, while the Melbourne try-outs will go down on Sunday October 14.
The auditions represent a pretty big opportunity for would-be stars outside of South Korea, and signify the genre’s explosive growth in Australia.
In April, BTS notched their first #1 album on the ARIA charts with their EP Persona, and went on to become the first K-pop act to present a Grammy Award.
Big Hit Entertainment is yet to reveal audition locations, but you can expect them to arrive fairly soon.
