In case you haven’t noticed Christmas is nigh! Just ask Jimmy Fallon who alongside fellow Saturday Night Live alumni Horatio Sanz ran through “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”. And as we blogged last month the track, which originally appeared as a yuletide SNL skit, has recently found new life as a Christmas cover by Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas.
Naturally half way through the track Casablancas appears out of nowhere (backed by The Roots no less) to prove that despite wearing shades indoors he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Then it turns, like every Sanz/Fallon skit used to, into muffled laughter, failed attempts to keep their shit together and good times. Yeah Christmas!
