Gotye’s First Australian Post-Grammy Interview

Off the back of some well-deserved star treatment in LA at the Grammy Awards, Gotye is back in Sydney and has done his first post-Grammy interview with none other than educational radio station 2SER 107.3 FM.

The down-to-earth singer allegedly turned down 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie-O to talk to Paris Pompor at the Green Room Lounge in Enmore about his experience at the massive awards ceremony.

“I didn’t get into music for all the hoopla, so if anything I sometimes feel like a curious bystander at all these big things,” he said.

When asked about the moment Prince announced his song ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ as Record of the Year, Gotye said his “fumbled speech” demonstrates how thrown he was by it.

“I can’t remember – did he [Prince] actually say my name?” Gotye tried to recall. “I mainly just remember what he did say was preceded by ‘Oh, I love this song’… then shaking incredibly uncontrollably with Kimbra’s hand in mine, trying to make sure she didn’t stumble on her incredible dress walking up the stairs.”

If you’re unsure if he could be any cuter, listen to the entire hour-long interview HERE where he talks more about his career and the making of his album.
