The official 2011 Good Vibes lineup is set to be unveiled Friday, but for the budding Sherlock Holmes/Nancy Drew types among us, organizers have left some cryptic audio/visual clues on the festival’s website with the promise of free swag for anyone who can successfully decipher the brief audio snippets and visual puns.
Unfortunately we were never too good at cracking or understanding codes but thanks to Twitter user Brownie, a super sleuth acquaintance of our friends at Polaroids of Androids, the nine hinted-at acts are (probably) as follows…
Clue 1 = Phoenix
Clue 2 = Kelis
Clue 3 = Ludacris
Clue 4 = Erykah Badu
Clue 5 = Friendly Fires
Clue 6 = Miike Snow
Clue 7 = Rusko
Clue 8 = Janelle Monae
Clue 9 = Kill The Noise
If you’re still skeptical about the validity of those claims (don’t worry we can’t hear or see any of the aforementioned acts in the clues either) POA notes that “with most of the mp3 snippets posted, the ID3 tags were left unchanged from the original songs they were cut from. Just in case you needed some extra validation.” Which is basically web parlance for “we just Robert Langdon-ed the shit out this mystery lineup”.
